Your people are your asset.
When they're running on empty,
the whole organisation pays.

Emily Witt is a workplace wellbeing consultant and leadership coach bringing evidence-informed, trauma-aware education directly into executive teams, founder-led businesses, and value-aligned organisations across Australia.

The leaders who quietly check out before they resign are the ones you never see coming.

Burnout in leadership teams doesn't announce itself. It shows up as flattened decision-making, reduced capacity for complexity, and the kind of slow institutional knowledge drain that takes years to rebuild after someone leaves.

Under Australian WHS legislation, psychological hazards in the workplace are no longer a soft issue - they are a legal obligation. Managing vicarious trauma, chronic stress, and leadership team dysfunction is now part of your duty of care.

A wellness day doesn't address a dysregulated nervous system. A meditation app doesn't build the emotional capacity your leaders need under real pressure. The organisations that get this right invest differently.

Turnover + Replacement

Losing a senior leader costs an estimated 1.5 to 2x their annual salary in recruitment, onboarding, and lost productivity. The real cost is rarely calculated.

Decision Fatigue

Leaders operating in chronic dysregulation make reactive decisions. Risk tolerance distorts. Long-term thinking narrows. Teams feel the instability before anyone names it.

Lost Institutional Knowledge

The most exhausted people in your organisation often carry the most. When they leave - or quietly disengage - they take context, culture, and capability with them.

Culture as Performance

Wellbeing programs that sit outside actual work culture signal one thing clearly: this is compliance, not care. People notice. Engagement data eventually confirms it.

Science meets practice. Evidence-informed. Built for real pressure.

Emily's work is grounded in psychological science, nervous system regulation, and eight years of applied trauma practice in the community sector. She has trained professionals in high-exposure environments - crisis services, family violence, mental health - people who know what burnout and vicarious trauma look like from the inside.

That depth of experience is what she brings to executive and leadership contexts. Not as a performance, but because she has sat with teams operating at their limits and understands what actually shifts capacity - and what just adds another item to the calendar.

Her approach is adult-education focused and co-designed with your organisation. It integrates evidence-informed frameworks from trauma-informed practice, polyvagal theory, and nervous system regulation into practical tools leaders can actually use. No scripts. No worksheets that live in a drawer. Capability that transfers.

This is not

  • A one-size-fits-all wellness day
  • Toxic positivity or motivational performance
  • A mindfulness app bolted onto your EAP
  • Generic resilience content that forgets your sector exists

Scope of practice

Emily is not a registered psychologist or counsellor. Her qualifications are in psychological science and her organisational work is delivered as evidence-informed education, coaching, and consulting. She does not diagnose, assess, or treat clinical mental health conditions. This scope positions her work as a complement to, not a replacement for, clinical and EAP services - and it means organisations engage her with clarity on what they're investing in.

Eight years in the sector gives her something no certification does: she knows what your teams are actually carrying.

Emily spent eight years working in complex trauma and community services before building Space Between Wellness. She has trained and supported professionals in some of the most high-exposure roles in the sector - people whose nervous systems absorb the weight of other people's crises, day in and day out.

That background is not incidental to her corporate and organisational work. It is why she doesn't need to be briefed on vicarious trauma or sector stress in the abstract. She has navigated it alongside the people doing the work.

It is also why she builds programs the way she does: evidence-informed, grounded in nervous system science, and deeply respectful of the intelligence of the adults in the room. No condescension. No generic resilience tropes. Work that meets people where they actually are.

Starting well matters as much as the program itself.

Emily's organisational engagements begin with a genuine conversation about your team's context, not a scope-of-work template.

"I want to stop women from building empires they are miserable in - fuelled by feeling unworthy, fuelled by expectations."

Emily Witt

Why this matters to how she works with organisations.

Emily's deepest motivation is preventing high-capacity people from constructing a version of success that hollows them out. That is as true for an executive team as it is for an individual. The organisations she is drawn to work with are the ones asking the same question she has always asked: what does it look like to do this sustainably?

She brings that orientation to every engagement. Not as soft sentiment, but as a genuine framework for building teams that can endure - and lead - without running themselves into the ground.

This is a genuine conversation - not a sales call. Emily will ask about your team, your sector, and what you're navigating. If there's a fit, she'll tell you clearly. If there isn't, she'll say that too.
